The Old Taunton Colony Club (OTCC) has begun a "Taunton Lake Preservation Initiative" and formed a Steering Committee to spearhead the effort. This action came after numerous Taunton Lake residents spoke out at the 2003 Annual Meeting and urged the Colony Club Board to take immediate action to stop various property owners from clear-cutting trees on lake properties and removing natural vegetation between their homes and the lake.

Taunton Lake is unique in its secluded natural environment, and the residents spoke passionately about doing all we can to retain the character of the lake.

The Colony Club urges as many residents as possible to join the effort and to help by serving on various sub-committees.
